Convention 2012

Image
Wow! What a great time I had. It was a very long 5 days but so worth it. I learned so many new tips, met some new friends and enjoyed connecting with others. My upline Michelle Halleen makes us feel so special she does a great job of bringing us all together! Thanks Michelle :) A big part of the Stampin' Up! convention is the card swapping. We bring card fronts we have made and we trade them with other demonstrators. It gives us new ideas and samples to share with our customers and it's a fun way to get to know someones work. I made 3 swaps this year. One regular swap for general swapping and then two over the top swaps. The over the top swaps were special swaps you have to join ahead of time, they have a theme and a certain number of participants. Over the next three days I will be sharing my cards and a little bit of convention too. To make this card I stamped the flower from the Button Buddies set 3 times and embossed them in clear. I then used the sponge daubers and d

There is a fantastic promotion going on this month. This great 7 piece set is available for $5 with any $50 order. This offer is limited and will only be available through July 31st. Here is the card I made using this set. I features the apothecary accents framelits die and new piercing template. I love the new piercing pack it comes with 3 stencils each one is 6" x 6" in size and they only run $7.95 (#126187) for the set. You can purchase the piercing tool separately ($3.95, 126189) if you need one, or use a push pin as I know many of my customers do. It adds such a fun touch to any project, we will be using these a lot in my upcoming classes. And maybe we will be seeing more of these in upcoming catalogs :). Well I digress, here is my fun card. You can see the pierced details around the frame. To put this card together I stamped the solid sunflowers in daffodil onto white card stock, and the small solid flowers in baja breeze. Since the stamp set is two-step stamp

Designer Cuts Box

Image
I am in love with the NEW Designer Cuts cards in the Occasions Mini, if you have been to any of my classes in the last month you will have gotten to use them. They are so elegant and quick. Well, this sweet box here was made with a single Designer Cuts card.  I personally love it when the products I buy are good for many other uses. So to get on with it here is what you do. Open up your Designer cuts card and lay it down on your Simply Scored board with the line running the same way as the scores. I made a score line 1/2" from the center line on either side. So you will have a total of 3 lines.  Next turn your card 90 degrees and score it at 1" on both sides. You will then cut slits for your tabs from the outside in at the box bottom up to the lines that you just scored. Your box should look like the picture here. The box then folds up. I added a piece of designer series paper on the inside laser cut side before I assembled my box. You can assemble your box with sticky stri

My MDS card

Here is a quick card I put together using the My Digital Studio. It features all Sale-A-Bration products. I was able to get all of these on a disc as my FREE item with a $50 order. Now I can print this card at home or I can print it through SU!, or even through an online printing place. I know many demonstrators who just print these up at home quick and easy. Same as you would photos. I personally have only used non-SU online resources. I can print this through SU! by itself for $5.51, it was $1.95 for the card plus tax, S & H. Although the more you purchase the price goes down per card. You can get up to 25% off per card. Which is great for invitations or Holiday cards. Even a thank you set for a new bride or mom. HERE is the link to the pricing information. You can of course create this card using your own stampin' supplies. Stamp set: Elementary Elegance Paper: crumb cake, pool party, poppy parade and whisper white cardstock; Everyday enchantment dsp Accessories: Cu

Spotlight on Framelits

Image
I was hesitant about the *NEW* Framelits dies but they are my new favorite accessory, I can do so much with them and they make all of my cards look so "wow", with little effort I might add. The following two cards were done at my last Stamp Club meeting, if you don't belong to a Stamp club you are missing out ;). This card features products from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. We simply attached our dsp to the front and the cut out a "window" using the Labels framelits die, I love that you can place these anywhere on your card. We then cut another frame out of poppy parade to place inside. The lovely butterfly on the front is made using the blossom punch. To get a butterfly fold your blossom in half and trim it to leave only the wings of a butterfly. Supplies Stamps: Fresh Vintage (SAB) and Friendly Phrases (IB&C) Ink: Poppy Parade and Whisper White Paper: Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Poppy Parade and Whisper white card stock; Everyday Enchantment dsp Acce

Easel Calendar Card

Image
Here are two fun things I put together at Christmas this year. The card is an Easel card with the calendar applied to the front. These items feature products from the NEW Occasions Mini catalog. The easel part is held up with a brad and the flower is popped up. I also ran my flowers through my perfect polka dots embossing folder for added flair. For the book mark I stuck two flowers together using dimentionals and then strung the ball chain through. I then tied the pear pizzazz in between the two flowers so it gave the effect of leaves. Supplies: Stamp Set: Delight in Life (retired) and Fresh Vintage (SAB 2012) Paper: going gray, riding hood red, pear pizzazz and whisper white card stock; Twitterpated dsp Ink: riding hood red and going gray Accessories: perfect polka dote embossing folders, pear pizzazz seam binding, blossom punch, label punch, 3/4" circle punch and an In Color brad. I got the calendars and the ball chain online. Happy Stampin' Tricia

It's been a while...

Image
It's been too long since I have posted. I have been swamped with the boys and their school activities. I volunteered for the PTA and have been consumed by fundraising events. Not that I mind but it has left me little room for blogging. We also took a wonderful vacation to Florida and did the Disney Dream and WDW. So much fun! Here are my boys on Disney's private island in the Bahamas. So, now that I am back to reality and with two fundraisers under my belt I can get to my passion and stamping. I have had a few classes and some creative moments so I will share them with you now in one long post. Hopefully making up for some of my absence. These first two cards were from a button button class I did. This card features the gorgeous (that I said I wouldn't buy) Gently Falling two step stamp set(123802c; 123804w), I cant put this set down. It's timeless and versatile. I used a wet napkin and re-inkers to do the different colors for the leaves. The button is a paper bu
