You Make Me Happy!

Image
Hello! It's been a while since I posted. I am glad to be back. I am posting a card I made for my stamp club recently, it features the Banner punch and Decorative Dots embossing folders both FREE during sale-a-bration. We dry embossed the dots onto the Core'dinations card stock in real red. We could have sanded this down to create a distressed look but I just wanted the look of the textured card stock on this card. I was lucky enough to find that card stock on the SU! clearance rack, woo hoo! Right now I think they still have gumball green available at a great discount. The banners were punched out of the Fresh Prints designer series paper stack (132996, $6.95, 48 sheets), found in the Celebrate the Every Day catalog. Its beautiful paper. Each sheet measures 4-1/2 x 6-1/2. Supplies  stamp set: Happy Watercolor (celebrate the everyday, p 22) ink: basic clack paper: real red core'dinations card stock, whisper white and crumb cake card stock; Fresh Prints DS...

Birthday Starburst card

Image
I just love making this easy card! The starburst really adds an element of fun. we made this card at my last stamp club meeting. This card also features a faux bow using strips of cardstock. I cut 3, 3/4" wide strips of card stock. The longest was the length of my card 5-1/2" x 3/4". The next two were approximately 4-1/2" long. middle piece was flagged at the ends. The next piece I just folded over the ends to meet in the middle. To get a good curve you can wrap the bends around a pencil. I attached that to the flagged piece and wrapped a 1/4" ish x 2" strip around to make the center of the bow. I did have to trim some to make it work. I attached it using a dimentional. I will add a tutorial on the starburst a little later so check back for updates. Supplies: stamp set: curly cute paper: Birthday Basics designer series paper; bermuda bay and whisper white cardstock ink: raspberry ripple accessories: itty bitty punch pack, basic rhinestones and di...

Magical Season single stamp

Image
Hello! It's been a while! The past few months have been a whirlwind for me. Unfortunately I have not gotten to stamp and share the way I had hoped to. I am still holding stamp clubs and making cards for friends and family but classes have had to go on the back burner. I am hoping this holiday season give me a jump start at the new year! So, I love all of my SU products and I love to play with new and fresh rubber. I like the single stamps that we sell periodically because it gives me just a taste and I only have to buy the one stamp I love. For the holidays I chose the stamp "Magical Season", the phrase fit my thoughts perfectly. For this card I also used the d esigner paper stacks. These are perfect for making my Christmas cards. I like to make my own and with the stacks I get 24 sheets of one design. The sheets are 4-1/2" x 6" so they are perfect for cutting down to a card front size or using on another project. The fun file folder look is done using the n...

Chalkboard technique card and Introducing Paper Pumpkin

Image
I love this old, but new again new technique. It is so much fun! I think it is the white embossing on the black that gives it so much pizzazz. We made this card at my last stamp club meeting. it features the chalkboard technique and new More Amore dsp. The scallops on the right are actually a doily heart (included in the designer series paper) turned on it's side. The More Amore paper is seasonally valentines but I really try and extend it's use to more than that. I think you can send this cute Hello card anytime. The red scalloped edge on the left is the new Real Red coredinations card stock, it is real red textured card stock with a pink core. So when we distressed the edge a bit you can see the pink inside. Cute! The technique is super easy, just emboss your images in white embossing powder and then daub some white ink around them. You can use white ink and clear embossing powder but the look is less dramatic. Supplies Stamp Set: Lacy and Lovely Ink: versamark (water...

Preserved Catalog - Case

Image
This card layout is from the 2012 Holiday Catalog, which is why it is "cased" Copy And Share with Everyone. I changed it a bit of course! We made this cute card at my last stamp club meeting. Isn't the new designer series paper gorgeous?  Supplies Stamp set: Perfectly Preserved Ink: raspberry ripple and early espresso Paper: Orchard Harvest designer series paper; early espresso, island indigo, lucky limeade, and whisper white card stock Accessories: island indigo ruffled ribbon, scallop punch and dimentionals I especially love the apples from the Perfectly Preserved stamp set. We popped out the top and bottom apples but the middle one is actually 3 apples glued back to back. I have a quick tutorial to show you. You want to start by stamping and die (or punching as the case may be) cutting 3 apples. You will want to fold each of these in half. I lined them up and put glue on my center apple. I made sure that they are all facing the same way, you don...

Image
Here is my last swap card from convention. It features my new favorite stamp set Everything Eleanor. This stamp set has flowers, some scrolling, a frame, and a bird . Soo cute. My card also features a fun fold I saw online that I haven't seen much of, it is a winged card, I think. This was my Over the Top entry, it has quite a few details to it like several layers and embellishments. I love the colors they are from the NEW In Color collection, Midnight Muse, Razpberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, and a touch of Primrose Petals. Christmas In July

Image
Thanks for visiting today! Here is my Frosty Friends swap card for the Over the Top swap, "Bling It". This swap was organized by Barbara Jackson, thanks Barbara I had a great time. Frosty Friends stamp set (C) Stampin' Up! I tried to use as many "blingy" things as I could. I used our silver glimmer paper, basic rhinestones, dazzling diamonds glitter, and shimmer paint. Now with the shimmer paint I used the new spritzers available in the new catalog, I poured some of the paint in the spritzer, added some water and spritzed the paint onto my card. I used my two way glue on the snowmen by tracing the outlines and then sprinkling on the dazzling glitter. The snowflake is cut using our new snowflake die. SUPPLIES stamp set: Frosty Friends, Easy Events ink: staz on black, early espresso paper: sahara sand, whisper white, cherry cobbler, and pool party card stock; pool party designer prints paper accessories: cherry cobbler seam binding, ribbon punch, s...
