You Make Me Happy!

Stampin' Up!, banner punch, happy watercolor stamp set, frsh prints dsp

Hello! It's been a while since I posted. I am glad to be back. I am posting a card I made for my stamp club recently, it features the Banner punch and Decorative Dots embossing folders both FREE during sale-a-bration.
We dry embossed the dots onto the Core'dinations card stock in real red. We could have sanded this down to create a distressed look but I just wanted the look of the textured card stock on this card. I was lucky enough to find that card stock on the SU! clearance rack, woo hoo! Right now I think they still have gumball green available at a great discount.
The banners were punched out of the Fresh Prints designer series paper stack (132996, $6.95, 48 sheets), found in the Celebrate the Every Day catalog. Its beautiful paper. Each sheet measures 4-1/2 x 6-1/2.

stamp set: Happy Watercolor (celebrate the everyday, p 22)
ink: basic clack
paper: real red core'dinations card stock, whisper white and crumb cake card stock; Fresh Prints DSP stack
accessories: basic rhinestoones, silver 1/8" ribbon, itty bitty punch pack flower punch and chalk talk framelits

Stampin' Up! Perfect Pennants, Hardwood, Sweet Sorbet

I borrowed this layout from a pinterest card done by Michele Last and a little bit of freshly made sketch #119.

stamp set: Perfect Pennants and Hardwood
ink: basic black
paper: pistachio pudding, crumb cake, basic black and whisper white card stock; Sweet Sorbet dsp (SAB)
accessories: chalk talk framelits, decorative dots embossing folder (SAB), Petite Petals punch, Itty Bitty shapes flower punch, black narrow grossgrain ribbon and basic rhinestones

These cards were both fun and easy. Hope to see you at a class soon!

Birthday Starburst card

I just love making this easy card! The starburst really adds an element of fun. we made this card at my last stamp club meeting.
This card also features a faux bow using strips of cardstock. I cut 3, 3/4" wide strips of card stock. The longest was the length of my card 5-1/2" x 3/4". The next two were approximately 4-1/2" long. middle piece was flagged at the ends. The next piece I just folded over the ends to meet in the middle. To get a good curve you can wrap the bends around a pencil. I attached that to the flagged piece and wrapped a 1/4" ish x 2" strip around to make the center of the bow. I did have to trim some to make it work. I attached it using a dimentional.
I will add a tutorial on the starburst a little later so check back for updates.

stamp set: curly cute
paper: Birthday Basics designer series paper; bermuda bay and whisper white cardstock
ink: raspberry ripple
accessories: itty bitty punch pack, basic rhinestones and dimentionals

Magical Season single stamp

Hello! It's been a while! The past few months have been a whirlwind for me. Unfortunately I have not gotten to stamp and share the way I had hoped to. I am still holding stamp clubs and making cards for friends and family but classes have had to go on the back burner. I am hoping this holiday season give me a jump start at the new year!
So, I love all of my SU products and I love to play with new and fresh rubber. I like the single stamps that we sell periodically because it gives me just a taste and I only have to buy the one stamp I love. For the holidays I chose the stamp "Magical Season", the phrase fit my thoughts perfectly.

For this card I also used the d
esigner paper stacks. These are perfect for making my Christmas cards. I like to make my own and with the stacks I get 24 sheets of one design. The sheets are 4-1/2" x 6" so they are perfect for cutting down to a card front size or using on another project. The fun file folder look is done using the new Punch Board. And of course I had to add bling with NEW Frosted Finishes embellishments, these beautiful sparkly snowflakes are just $6.95 for a package of 12.

stamp set: Magical Season
ink: cherry cobbler
paper: Winter Frost designer series paper pack; pool party, smoky slate and whisper white card stock
accessories: silver 1/8" ribbon, frosted finishes embellishments, tags framelits and dimentionals

Epic Day! The new Stampin' Up! product line

I love it! It is so much fun. I love the washi tape and the Epic Day dsp, the colors are my personal favorites so what is not to love? Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, Gumball Green and Basic Gray, the colors are beautiful together. I made a few cards for my last stamp club meeting and wated to share them with you today.
The first card features the washi tape. It is so simple to use, you just decide how much you need and rip it off. It is very forgiving too if you attach it to your card a little crooked. You just carefully lift it off and start again.

Stamp Set: Hey There friend (paper pumpkin)
Ink: basic gray
paper: Epic Day dsp; daffodil delight, crumb cake, and whisper white cardstock
accessories: scallop edge punch, scallop circle punches( itty bitty, 7/8", 1-1/4")
stamp set: around array
ink: basic gray
paper: Epic Day dsp; basic gray card stock
accessories: honeycomp embossing folder, paper doily, bottlecap (flattened), and scallop circle punches (1-1/4" & 1-3/4")

This adorable card idea was shared by Barb Mullikin, it is just adorable, she lists the measurements on her site. I love when I can do different things with my one product. It is made from the new pop 'n cuts die, you can use it as a fancy fold or as a gift card holder. The die comes with those little slits and tabs already there so I didn't need to adjust for anything.
This was made with calypso coral card stock and Epic Day designed series paper. The flower is made from the blossom punch and the 2-3/8" scallop circle punch, the small silver piece is a flattened bottle cap embellishment.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!

Chalkboard technique card and Introducing Paper Pumpkin

I love this old, but new again new technique. It is so much fun! I think it is the white embossing on the black that gives it so much pizzazz. We made this card at my last stamp club meeting. it features the chalkboard technique and new More Amore dsp. The scallops on the right are actually a doily heart (included in the designer series paper) turned on it's side. The More Amore paper is seasonally valentines but I really try and extend it's use to more than that. I think you can send this cute Hello card anytime.
The red scalloped edge on the left is the new Real Red coredinations card stock, it is real red textured card stock with a pink core. So when we distressed the edge a bit you can see the pink inside. Cute!
The technique is super easy, just emboss your images in white embossing powder and then daub some white ink around them. You can use white ink and clear embossing powder but the look is less dramatic.

Stamp Set: Lacy and Lovely
Ink: versamark (watermark)
Paper: More Amore DSP; primrose petals, pool party, basic black card stock and real red coredinations card stock
Accessories: white embossing powder, embossing gun, scallop edge punch, stitched real red ribbon, pool party seam bunding, and primrose petals satin stitched ribbon.

I have two more cards to show you but I am heading out the door. My babies went back to school today after a three week break and I need some retail therapy with my Mama until they come home. I will post those later this week.

In other SU! News, we are launching a NEW line called Paper Pumpkin. It is an online mail order paper crafting kit program. There is a new kit every month featuring either cards, a 3D item or home decor project. All supplies will be pre-cut and everything you need will be provided, except maybe adhesive. You can order a trial kit and your monthly kit anytime at At the end of the processing period please be sure to name me as your demonstrator. I just ordered my kits and I will share them with you all when they come. For more details visit the site!

Preserved Catalog - Case

This card layout is from the 2012 Holiday Catalog, which is why it is "cased" Copy And Share with Everyone. I changed it a bit of course! We made this cute card at my last stamp club meeting. Isn't the new designer series paper gorgeous?

Stamp set: Perfectly Preserved
Ink: raspberry ripple and early espresso
Paper: Orchard Harvest designer series paper; early espresso, island indigo, lucky limeade, and whisper white card stock
Accessories: island indigo ruffled ribbon, scallop punch and dimentionals

I especially love the apples from the Perfectly Preserved stamp set. We popped out the top and bottom apples but the middle one is actually 3 apples glued back to back. I have a quick tutorial to show you.

You want to start by stamping and die (or punching as the case may be) cutting 3 apples. You will want to fold each of these in half.

I lined them up and put glue on my center apple. I made sure that they are all facing the same way, you don't want to glue them together and find one is upside down.

I adhered one side and then the next to my center apple.

You will then have an apple that looks like this. When you put it in an envelope the center apple will fold down easily.

Perfectly Preserved

I can't say I love this set enough! It is so versatile and so fun. It has everything I look for in a set, images, verses and they have a matching punch, or in this case framelits die set. I love it! What I also love is that you can get the stamp set and dies in a set at 15% off! Don't we love a good deal!
We made this card at my last stamp.
This card was so much fun to make. I borrowed the layout from Amy O'Neill, I love how she used the paper designs. The fun gingham flower was something I learned at convention from Carrie Cudney, you can see my project and directions on how to make the flower here. I never got around to adding my verse but we did in class using the modern label punch.

Stamp set: Perfectly Preserved
Ink: early espresso, raspberry ripple, lucky limeade and island indigo
Paper: island indigo, cajun craze and whisper white card stock; orchard harvest designer series paper
Accessories: 1-1/4" scallop circle, Cannery Set framelits dies and dimentionals

Everything Eleanor

Here is my last swap card from convention. It features my new favorite stamp set Everything Eleanor. This stamp set has flowers, some scrolling, a frame, and a bird . Soo cute. My card also features a fun fold I saw online that I haven't seen much of, it is a winged card, I think.

This was my Over the Top entry, it has quite a few details to it like several layers and embellishments. I love the colors they are from the NEW In Color collection, Midnight Muse, Razpberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, and a touch of Primrose Petals.

Stamp Set: Everything Eleanor, Fabulous Phrases
Ink: summer starfruit, midnight muse, raspberry ripple and chocolate chip
Paper: raspberry ripple, whisper white, crumb cake and primrose petals card stock; raspberry ripple, midnight muse and summer starfruit dsp
Accessories: scallop trim border punch, 2-3/8" scallop punch, modern label punch, white stitched grosgrain, In Color dahlias, and lots of dimentionals.

The layers on this card are quite fun. The back layer is 4-14/ x 5-1/2 scored at 1" from each end. The layer with the scalloped edges is 4-1/4 x 5-1/4" scored at 7/8" from each end and then scalloped. The center panel is 3-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 1" from only one end. This last piece is sandwiched between the two panels when you assemble them, with the 1" piece in between. You will have to trim off a small amount in front.
I really liked playing with this card it is so fun.

So while Convention was exciting and fun it was great to get home to my family. I missed my two boys terribly. Yesterday I got to spend the day with my older son, Rowen, at a nearby lake. He got to paddle around in a canoe and then try out wake boarding, and the program was completely free, woo hoo. He had a blast! And I did too :)

Christmas In July

Thanks for visiting today!
Here is my Frosty Friends swap card for the Over the Top swap, "Bling It". This swap was organized by Barbara Jackson, thanks Barbara I had a great time.

Frosty Friends stamp set (C) Stampin' Up!
I tried to use as many "blingy" things as I could. I used our silver glimmer paper, basic rhinestones, dazzling diamonds glitter, and shimmer paint. Now with the shimmer paint I used the new spritzers available in the new catalog, I poured some of the paint in the spritzer, added some water and spritzed the paint onto my card.
I used my two way glue on the snowmen by tracing the outlines and then sprinkling on the dazzling glitter.
The snowflake is cut using our new snowflake die.

stamp set: Frosty Friends, Easy Events
ink: staz on black, early espresso
paper: sahara sand, whisper white, cherry cobbler, and pool party card stock; pool party designer prints paper
accessories: cherry cobbler seam binding, ribbon punch, snowflake die, silver glimmer paper, bitty buttons, pool party bakers twine, lacy brocade embossing folder, scallop edgelit, dazzling diamonds glitter, stampin write markers and basic rhinestones

I also took a bonus class with Stampin' Up! called "I am a Pattern Mixing Pro". We made this adorable project.
All Supplies (C) Stampin' Up!

The class was taught by the oh so talented Carrie Cudney, you may have seen her on a SU! product video, she always has such cute ideas. We received 3 packages of DSP, this canvas and a new stamp set Lacy and Lovely. We painted the sides of the canvas and then a piece of newsprint DSP in a blue acrylic paint. The dots are stamped using Staz On. The flowers and stems were made using dsp. I also received buttons to add on but I didn't have time to add them yet to the flower centers.
I did a quick tutorial on the flowers though so here that is, they are so simple.

Here is what your finished flower will look like.

You will need 5 scallops, 4 in dsp and 1 in card stock. Here you can see I also stamped my dsp.

Crumple up your dsp scallops and open then open them up and flatten them.

Fold your scallops in half and then half again making this triangle shape.

I folded the card stock scallop in half and half again to get the fold marks there for reference. I added glue and fit my triangles into each quadrant.

Here is what your flower will look like when all the folded scallops are added.

I added a punch from the boho blossoms punch for a center and then fluffed out the petals.

Add a button with some bakers twine or linen thread tied to it and you have a quick and easy embellishment.
